At
the heart of the high plateau, Marlhes situated at 950 metres
high, is a little village of 1458 inhabitants and of 3260
Ha of forests and grasslands.
During winter time, one can practise without any constraint
cross-country skiing (slopes are not steep and ways are easy),
and at summer time mountain bike and hiking.
From the top of this site, it is possible to have a complete
view on the whole Park of Pilat. And while going up around,
the view goes from Alps on one side, up to Auvergne volcano
on the other side.
There, air quality is exceptional and in summer, when
atmosphere in the valleys starts to be heavy, it is there
still astonishingly light and pure. Everything in this landscape
seems full of peace and quietness

There,
some famous religious personalities of the precedent centuries are
born. When leaving Marlhes, appears the house of F. Champagnat,
a religious person who spent his all life, four centuries ago, teaching
children of this area. It is there, in this mountainous country,
that Richard Deville breed his ducks, with all respect and passion
of a traditional breeder. Those products will make you discover,
or find back, the taste of authentic products.
